A group of wave functions that have the same values of n and l. For a given atom, all wave functions that have the same values of both n and l form a subshell. the kinetic theory of nonlinear wave systems. For example, if n 1, l can be only 0 if n 2, l can be 0 or 1 and so forth.

This solves a main conjecture in the theory of wave turbulence, i.e. Assuming the usual relationship \( p=h/\lambda \), the wavelength will vary as the particle moves around the orbit, being shortest where the particle moves fastest, at its closest approach to the nucleus. What actually happens when we perform the double slit experiment and record its outcome on a screen, is that we are making a measurement. We provide the rigorous derivation of the wave kinetic equation from the cubic nonlinear Schrödinger (NLS) equation at the kinetic timescale, under a particular scaling law that describes the limiting process. What Sommerfeld did was to consider a general Kepler ellipse orbit, and visualize the wave going around such an orbit.
